Today at Legaltech New York, CloudNine™ announced substantial technology enhancements and updated product names on four of its discovery software products.  The CloudNine product suite now includes CloudNine LAW™, CloudNine Concordance®, CloudNine Explore™ (renaming of Early Data Analyzer™ or “EDA”), and CloudNine Review™.  New releases of all four technologies will be demonstrated at the CloudNine Legaltech New York booth #310 starting today.  Technology announcement highlights include launches of CloudNine LAW 7.0, CloudNine Concordance 10.23 and Concordance FYI Server 5.15, CloudNine Explore 7.0, more features for CloudNine Review, and a new integration with Relativity via Compiled’s ReadySuite.  More details are included below.

CloudNine CEO Brad Jenkins remarked:  “In March 2018, CloudNine bought the LexisNexis eDiscovery Suite which included LAW, Concordance and Early Data Analyzer.  These products joined our incumbent CloudNine Review solution to create an end-to-end eDiscovery solution.  Since then, CloudNine has transformed into one of the largest, most comprehensive discovery software providers in the world.  At Legaltech New York, we are proud to unveil new names and technology breakthroughs for the CloudNine products.  We are committed to aggressively driving development forward to benefit all customers who rely on our technology for their eDiscovery needs.”

Launch of CloudNine LAW 7.0
CloudNine LAW enables clients to process and produce discovery data reliably and confidently.
CloudNine LAW 7.0 includes a multi-core, multi-threaded Turbo Import ingestion engine designed to process and load data up to four times faster than previous versions.  LAW’s Turbo Import ingestion will also support multi-agent mailstore and archive processing and support processing of forensic image formats, with reduced infrastructure requirements.

Launch of New CloudNine Concordance 10.23 and Concordance FYI Server 5.15
CloudNine Concordance provides a robust, effective, and cost-efficient way to manage discovery review.  CloudNine Concordance 10.23 and FYI Server 5.15 provide capabilities to generate an attachment range for production images.  A built-in Concordance Native Viewer allows users to search for documents with redactions and create placeholder images for unsupported file types or missing images during production.  CloudNine will also preview new viewer technology to support fast viewing of images and near native files.

Launch of CloudNine Explore 7.0 (formerly called Early Data Analyzer/EDA)
CloudNine Explore, formerly called Early Data Analyzer or “EDA”, provides capabilities to obtain insight into “big data” for investigations, compliance and early case assessment quickly and easily.  New CloudNine Explore 7.0 adds multi-processing support for PST/OST, MBOX and DBX mailstore formats.  Users can also configure Explore 7.0 to send them email notifications when processes are completed.

CloudNine’s VP of Products and Services Doug Austin said: “We are renaming Early Data Analyzer ‘CloudNine Explore’ to reflect the software’s recent transformation since it joined the CloudNine product suite.  With growing privacy concerns from GDPR and concerns about #metoo, compliance and investigations have become a huge priority for many organizations today.  CloudNine Explore is uniquely able to help companies quickly assess their data and identify areas of risk that must be addressed.”

New CloudNine Review New Interface and Managed Review Set Module
CloudNine Review simplifies the discovery process by allowing you to upload documents quickly and begin reviewing your document collection within minutes.  The enhanced CloudNine Review product includes new interface updates to enhance the user experience.  Also, a new managed review set module supports both custom batching needs and advanced reporting on review metrics.

CloudNine LAW Integration with Relativity via Compiled’s ReadySuite
CloudNine LAW now integrates with Relativity via a new “bridge” feature provided by Compiled’s ReadySuite.  Customers using CloudNine LAW and Relativity can now import and export data between these products with ReadySuite.  ReadySuite can also retrieve field data from Relativity and overlay the data into LAW.

Last week, DISCO announced an $83 million investment led by Georgian Partners, a Toronto-based venture-capital firm with deep expertise in applied artificial intelligence.

DISCO has raised $135 million, more than any other enterprise legaltech company. This investment reflects the market’s consolidation behind DISCO as the leading cloud ediscovery platform, and the growing customer consensus that cloud ediscovery will replace legacy ediscovery services vendors and software providers.

The scale of this investment reflects investors’ belief that ediscovery is just the beginning: that legal technology will impact the entire $437 billion legal market. DISCO will use this investment to accelerate its growth in the $12.5 billion ediscovery market — and to bring its unique combination of world-class engineering and legal expertise to building products that transform other areas of legal practice.

“DISCO’s mission is to create technology to modernize the practice of law,” said DISCO founder and CEO Kiwi Camara. “Great legal technology helps great lawyers and legal teams deliver better legal outcomes for their clients. We do this in ediscovery today; over time, we will do this in all areas of legal practice.”

“Artificial intelligence is poised to transform the legal industry. As a trusted partner to hundreds of enterprise clients, DISCO is ahead of the curve in securely applying artificial intelligence,” said Tyson Baber, Partner at Georgian Partners. “We are excited to help DISCO accelerate as they drive the speed of innovation in this industry and find better ways to serve legal professionals around the world.”

In addition to rapidly scaling up U.S. operations, DISCO will use this investment to continue aggressive international growth. DISCO opened its London office in October 2018 and plans to establish offices in Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America over the next several years, both to serve local markets and to better serve its existing multinational clientele.

Both new offerings enhance the IS-A-TASK user experience by leveraging Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant, from across multiple types of Amazon devices, to enable vocalized questions and responses through Alexa regarding status and help information.
